Most popular dishes at Joy’s Roti Delight
- Dhalpourie Roti
The Dhalpourie Roti, or also known as Dhalpuri, is a traditional Caribbean tortilla-like bread. It is stuffed with a savory filling, rolled out, and cooked on a hot stone. It is best to be paired with curries, soups or enjoyed as is.
Joy’s Roti Delight elevated the Dhalpourie Roti on a different level. They offer Dhalpourie Roti in different flavors such as chicken, curry conch, oxtail, vegetable, and many more.
- Paratha Roti
Next to the Dhalpourie is Paratha – layers of unleavened flatbread made with whole wheat flour, salt, water, and oil. They also go along with sides of curry, egg, and meat pies.
If you’re wondering what’s the difference between Dhalpourie and Paratha, the former is a thin-like flatbread cooked on a hot stone with fillings inside. While the Paratha is soft, more buttery, and torn up while cooking. Both are served with other meals and dishes.
Paratha is also called a “Buss up shot” because of its physical appearance, similar to a torn or bussed shirt. Like the Dhalpourie Roti, Joy’s Roti Delight also makes the Paratha in different flavors. These include curry duck, shrimp, stew chicken, and others.
Next to the reign of Roti is the Doubles, it’s a Trinidad street food made up of two deep-fried smaller versions of Roti. Inside the Doubles are curried chickpeas, which go best for a quick snack.
According to Joy’s Roti Delight staff, Doubles are the following top-selling dishes next to Roti. So if you still haven’t tried the Doubles, now is the time to visit Joy’s at 1205 NW 40th Ave, Lauderhill, FL 33313 or place an order online via https://joysrotisdelight.iposeats.com.
Another one from the street food of Trinidad and Tobago is Pholourie, a spiced dough ball that’s deep-fried. It’s often the best snack for family and friends, paired with a chutney of your choice.
To maximize your Pholourie, dip it in runny sauces like Tamarind, which you can get at Joy’s Roti Delight as additionals.
- Current Roll
After eating the delicious Roti, next in line would be desserts. The Current Rolls is a pastry dough filled with currants, the perfect after snack at Joy’s Roti Delight.
Making the Current Rolls is no easy task, especially if you lack patience. You don’t have to make your own from scratch though, you can just order one at Joy’s located at 1205 NW 40th Ave, Lauderhill, FL 33313 or place an order online via https://joysrotisdelight.iposeats.com.

I'm a Trini to the bone and let me tell you this food is tasty throughout. I grew up eating Trini food and this place takes me right back to those days. The roti is perfect..not dry at all super moist. The curry goat is seasoned with those Trini flavors that just make your mouth water. I love this place. Definitely recommend.
- “Just like being in Trinidad!” - Angelica R from Omaha, Nebraska
We had a great night dining at Joy's. They have moved to a bigger space across the street from the old place which is very nice. The food was delicious and exactly what we have found when traveling to Trinidad and Tobago. We each started with doubles.. and the pepper sauce was to die for. Finished our meals off with boneless chicken roti, shrimp roti and Caribs all around. The service was very prompt, we did not wait long for anything and it was decently busy!! Will definitely be back!!
